Webull Securities Limited in Hong Kong has rolled out Vega AI, an artificial intelligence investment assistant, as part of broader plans to add South Korean equities to its trading platform. The broker currently provides access to US, Hong Kong, Japanese markets and China A-shares, with Canadian stocks also planned for future inclusion.

Vega AI offers market analysis, company research and personalised strategy recommendations while enabling users to place orders through the interface. The tool delivers daily briefings, interprets earnings data and supports voice interaction for Hong Kong clients. Webull HK emphasises that the system assists with research and context rather than making autonomous investment decisions, with all trading instructions remaining under user control.

According to CEO Wang Haichen, the technology aims to bridge professional research with global market access and execution. Head of Product Edmond Cheung stressed that AI cannot replace investor risk assessment. The platform encrypts user conversations and maintains separation from core account systems to address security concerns.

The launch reflects growing adoption of AI tools across brokerage platforms. Webull HK plans to extend AI functionality to US options and develop an open Model Context Protocol architecture linking AI capabilities with quantitative models. This follows similar moves by competitors including Monex Group, which recently connected its platform with ChatGPT and Claude.
