Proprietary trading firm PineX Capital has integrated MetaTrader 5 into its platform lineup, responding to demand from its expanding international trader base of over 20,000 participants. The addition allows traders using PineX’s simulated funding programmes to access a familiar trading environment alongside the firm’s existing platform options.

The move reflects growing competition among prop firms to differentiate their offerings beyond simply account sizes and profit splits. PineX now supports MT5 across its various challenge structures including one-step and two-step evaluation programmes, instant funding options, and deferred payment models. Traders can access simulated accounts ranging from five thousand to three hundred thousand dollars, with eligible participants able to scale up to two million through the firm’s progression system.

According to CEO Arlind I, platform familiarity matters significantly for experienced traders who have developed strategies and routines around specific technology stacks. The decision targets traders reluctant to adapt workflows to proprietary platforms, potentially lowering barriers to entry for the firm’s international expansion beyond its core German-speaking markets.

The development highlights how prop firms continue blurring lines with traditional broker offerings, providing multi-asset simulated trading across forex, indices, commodities, equities and digital assets. While these remain evaluation environments rather than live funded accounts, the regulatory treatment of prop firm activities continues evolving across different jurisdictions, particularly regarding how challenges and payouts are structured and marketed.

As prop firms compete aggressively on features and flexibility, brokers should monitor whether this model attracts experienced traders away from traditional retail accounts or simply serves a fundamentally different market segment.
