FX broker CXM has secured authorisation from Cambodia’s Securities and Exchange Regulator, receiving licence number 042 on 12 August 2026. The approval allows the firm to offer securities and derivatives services under Cambodian rules, marking another step in Southeast Asia’s emerging regulatory landscape for retail brokers. Cambodia is becoming an increasingly popular licensing destination for offshore FX operators, with SERC expanding its register significantly since 2017 when only about ten derivatives firms held local authorisation.
CXM joins recent licensees including ATFX and Golden FX Link on the SERC register. The jurisdiction offers access to a population exceeding 15 million, over half under 25 years old, alongside improving digital infrastructure and economic development. Country Manager Alex Chua emphasised the firm’s commitment to transparent and compliant operations as it builds local presence.
The licensing news coincides with product expansion at CXM, which recently launched a continuous gold trading instrument operating beyond traditional market hours including weekends. The offering reportedly attracted 500 traders during its debut weekend and generated one million dollars in turnover within a fortnight.
CXM already maintains operations across multiple jurisdictions including FCA authorisation for its UK prime entity and services for introducing brokers through CXM Direct covering forex, metals and crypto CFDs. The Cambodian licence represents geographic diversification into a Southeast Asian market showing regulatory maturation and growing retail participation.

Cambodia’s increasingly active licensing regime offers brokers a regulated Southeast Asian foothold, though firms must assess whether local market access justifies the compliance investment against more established ASEAN alternatives.
