FTMO has disclosed it paid $422 million to acquire retail broker OANDA from private equity firm CVC, with the deal finalizing on December 1, 2025. The purchase price, equivalent to over CZK 8.79 billion, was revealed in parent company OHM’s 2025 annual financials. FTMO reported strong growth, with revenue climbing 30 percent year-on-year to CZK 8.9 billion and prop trading orders surging nearly 50 percent to 1.27 million. Returning clients drove approximately 80 percent of revenue, while the United States emerged as FTMO’s second-largest market following the OANDA partnership.

In regulatory developments, Cyprus appointed George Karatzias as CySEC’s new chairman, replacing Dr George Theocharides who led the regulator since September 2021. Karatzias previously served as CySEC vice-chairman before joining Cyprus’s central bank. Meanwhile, Nigeria’s proposed forex and CFD framework continues drawing industry feedback, with concerns raised about pricing structures despite acknowledgment of the rules’ overall coherence.
