CFI Financial Group announced Wednesday that Federico Cirulli has been appointed chairman, replacing co-founder Hisham Mansour who transitions to a non-executive director role alongside fellow co-founder Eduardo Fakhoury. The leadership reshuffle marks the second stage of CFI’s succession planning after Ziad Melhem became group CEO in June 2025, separating day-to-day operations from the founding team.

Cirulli, who joined CFI’s board as an independent director in November 2025, takes the helm as the firm reports explosive growth. Second-quarter 2026 trading volumes hit $3.03 trillion, up 101% year-over-year, while active clients grew 8.4%. CFI’s regulatory footprint now spans 15 entities following recent expansions into Brazil and Colombia, plus direct access to Dubai-listed equities.

The timing positions CFI for governance oversight during rapid international expansion, with Melhem noting that scale brings increased board obligations alongside opportunities.

CFI’s formalized governance structure and independent board leadership signal institutional maturity that could attract larger institutional clients and facilitate further regulatory approvals across jurisdictions.
