Alpaca, a brokerage infrastructure provider, has partnered with Kalshi to distribute event contracts globally, potentially reaching 14 million brokerage accounts across more than 300 financial institutions. The agreement allows firms using Alpaca’s technology to offer Kalshi’s prediction market contracts through existing infrastructure, though expansion remains subject to regulatory approval in each jurisdiction.

The move follows growing institutional interest in prediction markets, with Alpaca recently registering as a futures commission merchant with the CFTC and Apex launching similar API access. Alpaca’s chief brokerage officer Tony Lee cited strong customer demand for the integration, while Kalshi executives highlighted the technical partnership as crucial for international growth. Kalshi previously entered Canada through a June partnership with Wealthsimple.

Alpaca’s platform serves approximately 83,000 monthly API users, opening possibilities for automated trading in prediction markets alongside traditional retail access through partner institutions.
