Kraken has overhauled its Prime platform into a self-service institutional interface, eliminating the need for extensive API integrations and desk-managed workflows. The redesigned system, announced this week, gives hedge funds, asset managers and professional trading firms direct access to execution, settlement, order management and access controls through a unified web interface. Previously, institutional clients required API setup or desk assistance to access key infrastructure components.
The upgraded Prime interface now supports multi-venue execution, net settlement, TWAP orders, spot RFQs and consolidated trade blotters displaying activity across UI, API and desk channels. Institutions can manage credit limits, generate settlement reports and configure user permissions without contacting Kraken directly. The platform, launched in June 2025, provides liquidity access across more than twenty global venues covering over ninety percent of digital asset markets, alongside custody, lending and T+1 credit facilities through Payward Oceanic Ltd.
