Interactive Brokers has launched SafetyPay integration for Latin American clients, enabling direct funding from local bank accounts in local currencies. The partnership with Paysafe follows similar regional expansion moves by competitors, including IC Markets’ eight-country Latin American payment rollout. The new system allows eligible IBKR clients to deposit funds and access over 170 global markets for trading stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, and funds.

CEO Milan Galik emphasized simplifying the funding process, stating the broker will continue adding local payment methods to reduce friction. The move addresses persistent funding delays that have plagued cross-border retail trading in the region. The announcement comes amid intensifying broker competition in Latin America, with CFI and XTB recently securing Brazilian licenses and IC Markets expanding local payment infrastructure across multiple countries this year.
