Digital asset infrastructure provider Fireblocks has appointed former SEC Acting Chairman Elad Roisman as Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer and General Counsel for Regulatory, effective immediately. Roisman brings high-level regulatory experience from his tenure as SEC commissioner and acting chair, plus roles as Chief Counsel for the Senate Banking Committee and recent partnership at Cravath advising on digital asset regulation.

The hire signals Fireblocks’ strategic pivot toward institutional services including stablecoins, tokenised assets, and on-chain settlement for banks, payment firms, and asset managers. Roisman will engage directly with the SEC, CFTC, banking regulators, and standard-setters while shaping compliant product development as new rules emerge.

This move follows a broader industry trend where crypto firms embed regulatory expertise into their business operations. Circle, MoonPay, and Coinbase have similarly recruited former senior regulators as digital assets transition from speculative trading into institutional financial infrastructure.

Fireblocks’ regulatory heavyweight appointment underscores the maturation of digital asset infrastructure and suggests institutional adoption of tokenised products will accelerate under clearer compliance frameworks.
