Multi-asset trading platform ehamarkets has signed former England striker Michael Owen as its Global Brand Ambassador, marking the latest high-profile football partnership in retail trading. The appointment comes as ehamarkets pushes its AI-powered trading technology to retail clients globally. Owen, who won the 2001 Ballon d’Or and scored 40 goals in 89 England appearances, previously partnered with cryptocurrency exchange WEEX in 2024, demonstrating his continued presence in trading sector marketing.
The deal aligns with ehamarkets’ July 2026 launch of ehamarkets AI, an artificial intelligence trading assistant enabling natural language commands for market monitoring and analysis. CEO Markus Weber positioned the tool as an intelligent companion helping traders process information faster. The broker offers CFD trading across forex, commodities, indices, shares and ETFs.
This follows CFD broker TenTrade appointing Portugal’s Luis Figo in April, highlighting an accelerating trend of retail brokers leveraging football celebrities for consumer outreach amid fierce competition for active traders.
