Apex Fintech Solutions has introduced an API service enabling brokers and fintech platforms to integrate Kalshi event contracts directly into their trading interfaces without constructing their own Futures Commission Merchant infrastructure or establishing independent exchange connections. Tastytrade, owned by IG Group, has become the first firm to deploy this capability, now offering CFTC-regulated event contracts covering commodities, cryptocurrency, economic indicators, and financial markets.
The infrastructure addresses a significant operational challenge for brokers seeking to expand into event contracts. Unlike equities or exchange-traded funds, regulated derivatives cannot simply be added to existing platforms. Firms must navigate complex requirements including appropriate futures connectivity, product eligibility protocols, disclosure obligations, and position settlement processes. Apex handles the technical plumbing and back-office operations while Kalshi remains the regulated marketplace, leaving brokers responsible for user interface design, customer eligibility determination, and compliance integration.
This development follows IG Group’s recent agreement to acquire Underdog, a prediction markets and daily fantasy sports operator, for approximately 1.3 billion dollars, positioning tastytrade’s adoption within a broader strategic expansion into event-based trading products. The service operates through Apex’s AscendOS APIs, allowing customers to view event contract positions alongside traditional holdings rather than accessing separate applications.
For brokers, this represents a turnkey distribution solution for an increasingly popular asset class without substantial infrastructure investment.

Middleware solutions that handle regulatory connectivity are becoming essential enablers for product diversification, particularly as retail demand for non-traditional instruments outpaces most firms’ internal development capacity.
