Poland-based online broker XTB has expanded its sports marketing footprint in Europe by securing a three-year sleeve sponsorship deal with Portuguese football club FC Porto, commencing in the 2026/27 season. The partnership grants XTB prominent branding placement on the club’s domestic match kits alongside stadium advertising rights including LED boards, videowalls, and press room visibility at Estádio do Dragão.
This marks XTB’s second major European football sponsorship following an April partnership with Italy’s SSC Napoli, signalling an accelerated brand visibility strategy targeting retail clients across key European markets. The broker will also gain digital content creation rights and player-related marketing opportunities designed to reach FC Porto’s global fanbase.
The arrangement serves a dual purpose for XTB’s geographic expansion. While strengthening presence in Portugal and broader European retail markets, the firm explicitly highlighted the partnership’s strategic value for penetrating Middle East and North Africa regions where FC Porto maintains substantial supporter bases. Managing Director for XTB MENA Achraf Drid emphasised the deal supports the broker’s international growth objectives in those territories.
For retail brokers, such high-profile sports sponsorships represent significant marketing expenditure requiring careful compliance consideration. Advertising standards vary considerably across jurisdictions, with promotional messaging to retail investors facing heightened scrutiny from European and Middle Eastern regulators. Digital communication rights included in the package demand particularly close attention to ensure cross-border marketing materials meet local financial promotion requirements.
