Capital.com has appointed Mamoon Sbeith, a government relations veteran with nearly a decade at the World Bank and extensive Middle East experience, as its new Chief Strategy Officer. The multi-asset broker is signaling serious regional ambitions as it expands across MENA, with plans to open offices in Bahrain and Azerbaijan following its 2024 Dubai headquarters launch.
The timing is strategic. Capital.com reported first-quarter 2026 trading volumes of $1.27 trillion, up 11.2% from the previous quarter, with the UAE now ranking among its top three markets alongside Germany and the UK. The Middle East contributed a significant portion of total volume during the period.
Founder Viktor Prokopenya emphasized that Sbeith’s public affairs and strategic communications expertise is crucial for navigating new markets and jurisdictions. The hire reflects Capital.com’s recognition that expansion in MENA requires diplomatic-level government engagement, particularly as regulatory frameworks and foreign investment policies remain tightly intertwined across the region.
