XTB has launched a redesigned Investment Plans product across five European markets, allowing retail clients to build recurring portfolios combining individual stocks and ETFs for the first time. The update is live in Germany and Spain, with Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia rolling out this week. Previously limited to ETFs only, the revamped product now includes pre-built plans sorted by sector and risk profile targeting beginners, alongside customizable options mixing both asset types.
The move positions XTB in direct competition with German neobrokers Trade Republic and Scalable Capital, which have built multi-million user bases around similar recurring investment plans. Trade Republic entered XTB’s home Polish market last September, while XTB is now spending more on German marketing than domestic channels. The broker reports over eighty percent of new clients now start with unleveraged products like stocks, ETFs and Investment Plans rather than CFDs, reflecting a strategic shift toward long-term retail investing.

XTB’s push into savings plans signals intensifying competition for European retail investment flows, with brokers prioritizing sticky subscription revenue over volatile leveraged trading income.
