Nordic challenger bank Nordiska has partnered with Finastra to enhance its Swift network connectivity and access to Sweden’s central payment infrastructure through Finastra’s Swift Service Bureau solution. The integration allows the Swedish consumer and merchant-focused bank to strengthen its cross-border payment capabilities and domestic clearing operations.

The move comes as challenger banks increasingly seek enterprise-grade payment infrastructure to compete with traditional institutions. By outsourcing Swift connectivity through Finastra’s managed service, Nordiska avoids the significant capital and operational costs of maintaining direct Swift membership while gaining immediate access to the global financial messaging network used by over eleven thousand institutions worldwide.

The partnership positions Nordiska to scale international payment services for its Swedish customer base without building costly backend infrastructure. For Finastra, this deal reinforces its service bureau model as an attractive option for digital banks requiring rapid deployment of cross-border payment capabilities.
