BitGo has appointed Angela Ang as managing director for Asia-Pacific and president of BitGo Singapore, the digital asset infrastructure firm announced Thursday. Ang brings over a decade of regulatory experience from Singapore’s Monetary Authority, where she developed the country’s payments and crypto licensing framework that now governs BitGo’s local operations as a Major Payment Institution. She joins from blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs, where she led APAC public policy after helping operationalize the very licensing regime her new employer must satisfy.

The hire follows BitGo’s recent public listing on NYSE under ticker BTGO, which raised up to 201 million dollars at a valuation near two billion dollars. The company now ranks 273 on the Fortune 500 and operates what it calls the first federally chartered digital asset trust bank owned by a publicly traded firm. Ang will oversee business growth and operations across the region as institutional custody competition intensifies, with rivals including Nomura-backed Komainu targeting Asian institutions.
