Warsaw-listed online broker XTB saw its shares surge 8.6% on Thursday to a record closing high of PLN 147.68 after reporting preliminary second-quarter results that significantly exceeded analyst expectations. The company posted Q2 net profit of PLN 492.2 million, beating Noble Securities analyst forecasts by 22% despite a 21.2% quarter-on-quarter decline in CFD trading volumes. The strong performance came from improved profitability per CFD lot, which increased to PLN 484 from PLN 439 in the previous quarter.
XTB’s first-half profit reached approximately PLN 1.03 billion, already representing two-thirds of the newly raised full-year target of PLN 1.5 billion. The broker added roughly 333,300 clients in Q2, in line with projections. Shares have nearly doubled over the past year, delivering total returns exceeding 100% including dividends. Operating revenue fell 9.3% to PLN 992.6 million but margin improvements offset lower trading activity.

XTB’s ability to maintain near-record profitability despite declining volumes demonstrates pricing power that could sustain earnings even if market volatility moderates.
