XM has launched GOLD24-7, a contract for difference enabling clients to trade gold continuously across weekends when underlying spot and futures markets remain closed. The move positions XM alongside other retail brokers expanding seven-day trading access, following similar launches by Vantage Markets in recent weeks and CMC Markets in April. Gold has been among the most traded retail instruments this year, driving broker demand for products that eliminate weekend gaps.
XM Co-CEO Stavri Morti justified the expansion by noting that geopolitical developments and economic data releases don’t pause for weekends, giving traders flexibility to react immediately rather than waiting until Monday’s open. The retail expansion follows institutional moves including Scope Prime’s DIGIXAU in March and Match-Prime’s twenty-four-seven CFDs in June.
Unlike exchange-traded products such as LMAX Group’s perpetual gold futures, these weekend offerings are broker-priced CFDs designed specifically for retail clients, meaning pricing and liquidity conditions may differ from standard market hours.

Traders should scrutinize weekend spreads and pricing mechanisms on these broker-priced gold CFDs before executing positions, as liquidity constraints outside standard hours typically widen costs.
