Webull has rolled out a Model Context Protocol server enabling US retail traders to execute trades using plain-language commands rather than code, marking a significant shift in how AI integrates with trading infrastructure. The system, available since April, has already seen uptake among active traders over the past two months. The MCP server connects AI agents directly to Webull’s trading platform, allowing users without programming expertise to access functions like real-time market data queries, account monitoring, order placement, and trade management through natural-language instructions.

The move follows similar adoption by other platforms, including Spotware’s cTrader implementation last month. Webull plans to expand the service beyond US markets. Group President Anthony Denier emphasized that AI is fundamentally transforming market access, positioning MCP as infrastructure for next-generation self-directed investors. The development reflects accelerating industry efforts to democratize algorithmic and quantitative trading tools previously reserved for developers.
