Payward, Kraken’s parent company, is opening retail access to U.S. initial public offerings at offer price through its xStocks tokenized equities platform, marking a significant shift in IPO allocation traditionally reserved for institutional players. Retail investors using Kraken and selected xStocks Alliance partners will submit non-binding interest ahead of IPO launches, with Payward aggregating demand and securing allocations from underwriting syndicates. Allocated shares will be tokenized one-to-one with underlying equities held by regulated custodians and distributed on listing day.

The xStocks framework has already processed over thirty billion dollars in transaction volume with more than six billion dollars settled on-chain across one hundred twenty-five thousand global holders. Payward’s Global Head Mark Greenberg highlighted this removes traditional barriers based on geography and net worth. First tokenized IPO allocations are expected within weeks, though specific deals and underwriting partners remain undisclosed.
