Pepperstone has appointed Reed Sayer as its new Head of UK, effective immediately, following his decade-long tenure at rival broker XTB where he served most recently as Head of UK Sales. Sayer will spearhead the company’s UK growth strategy and manage key client relationships as the broker capitalizes on strong momentum in the region.

The appointment comes amid impressive financial performance for Pepperstone’s UK operations, with pre-tax profit surging to £24.1 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, up from £13.3 million the previous year. Net profit nearly doubled to £18 million from £9.9 million. The broker also claimed top rankings in six categories including Value for Money and Spreads in the 2026 Investment Trends Leveraged Trading Report.

Pepperstone’s Head of EMEA Marc Boever emphasized Sayer’s commercial expertise and market credibility would support continued expansion. The hire signals intensifying competition in the UK retail trading space as established brokers aggressively pursue market share.

Pepperstone’s senior hire and doubling profits indicate the UK retail trading market remains highly competitive, suggesting continued pressure on smaller brokers to differentiate or consolidate.
