UK investment platform Freetrade has named Nick Robinson as Chief Financial Officer, the executive announced via LinkedIn on Friday. The appointment follows last month’s CEO transition when Jenny Zhao took the helm after co-founder Viktor Nebehaj stepped down this summer. The leadership shuffle comes months after IG Group acquired Freetrade for £160 million, with the platform continuing to operate independently while expanding IG’s UK direct investment footprint.

Robinson brings extensive fintech and payments expertise to the role. Most recently CFO at TAB, he previously served as Finance Director for UK and Africa at Travelex and spent over four years as CFO at Mastercard-owned payments infrastructure firm Vocalink, where he handled Bank of England reporting and regulatory compliance. Earlier, he held multiple senior finance roles at Mastercard spanning cybersecurity, intelligence solutions, and European payment switching services.

Robinson called this “a pivotal moment for Freetrade” with opportunity to transform UK retail investment.
