Interactive Brokers has launched stablecoin funding capabilities alongside external wallet transfers and nine new digital assets, intensifying competition between traditional brokers and crypto-native platforms. The multi-asset broker now allows clients to withdraw US dollars via automatic conversion into USDC, PYUSD and RLUSD stablecoins, enabling fund movements outside traditional banking hours including weekends.

The platform is competing aggressively on cost with crypto commissions starting at 0.12% to 0.18% with no spreads or markups, undercutting many competitors. Clients can now transfer assets between IBKR and external custodial or non-custodial wallets, functionality still absent from several traditional brokerages. The crypto offering now includes tokens like Pax Gold, Uniswap and Aave, integrated alongside stocks, options, futures and prediction market contracts.

CEO Milan Galik emphasized integrating digital assets into clients’ broader financial experience rather than treating them separately. The expansion follows recent AI integrations with ChatGPT, Grok and Claude for research workflows.

Traditional brokers adding stablecoin infrastructure and wallet interoperability signals mainstream adoption of crypto-native features that could pressure specialized platforms on both pricing and multi-asset accessibility.
