HFM has appointed Mohamed Elgayyar as Head of GCC and Egypt, bolstering its leadership team across the Middle East and North Africa. Elgayyar announced the move on LinkedIn, stating he will lead business operations across Egypt and the six Gulf Cooperation Council markets including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. The appointment separates Egypt from the GCC bloc, reflecting the distinct regulatory and commercial landscapes across these jurisdictions.
Elgayyar brings over seventeen years of forex and financial markets experience in MENA, most recently serving as Regional Sales Manager at GODO and previously as Country Manager for Egypt at FxPro. The hire forms part of HFM’s broader regional expansion, following December appointments of Michalis Papacostas as MENA Regional Head and Jean Nahas to lead UAE operations and the Dubai office. HFM has not disclosed specific staffing plans, product rollouts, or country-level priorities for the new role.
FXnCO Insight
Brokers pursuing aggressive MENA expansion should watch HFM’s segmented leadership approach as a template for navigating fragmented regional regulatory frameworks.
