Nasdaq has secured a major contract with the National Bank of Georgia to overhaul treasury and financial markets operations across Georgia’s five largest banking institutions using its Calypso platform. The agreement marks a significant digital transformation push for the Georgian banking sector, aimed at modernizing legacy treasury systems and bringing them in line with international standards.
The deployment will standardize treasury operations across TBC Bank, Bank of Georgia, Credo Bank, Liberty Bank, and Halyk Bank Georgia, representing the country’s most systemically important financial institutions. The Calypso platform will provide integrated front-to-back-office capabilities for derivatives, foreign exchange, money markets, and securities processing, enabling real-time risk management and regulatory reporting.
This infrastructure upgrade is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve risk controls, and strengthen Georgia’s position as a regional financial hub in the Caucasus. The modernization effort comes as Georgian banks face increasing pressure to compete with international standards while managing complex cross-border transactions.
