Cryptocurrency exchange Gate has partnered with brokerage infrastructure provider Alpaca to launch US equities trading, offering users access to over 10,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs. The move follows Binance’s June expansion into 7,000 US stocks, also powered by Alpaca’s custody and settlement infrastructure. Gate users can now trade traditional equities, request IPO allocations, and access gStocks, Gate’s tokenized stock product, all within the same platform they use for crypto trading.

The partnership represents Gate’s broader diversification strategy beyond digital assets into wealth management, payments, and AI-powered trading tools. Alpaca handles all brokerage functions, custody, dividend processing, and corporate actions for the underlying securities. This trend extends across major crypto platforms, with Coinbase planning an “Everything Exchange” covering multiple asset classes and MEXC launching RealStocks earlier this year through a licensed partner.

Crypto exchanges are aggressively converging with traditional finance, creating one-stop trading platforms that could pressure conventional brokers to accelerate their own digital asset offerings or risk losing market share to crypto-native competitors.
