The Financial Commission has expelled EBC Financial Group from its membership effective 31 August 2026, citing numerous compliance failures with established rules and guidelines. The removal means EBC clients can no longer access compensation through the Financial Commission’s dedicated fund, which is reserved exclusively for clients of approved member firms.
EBC operates as a multi-entity brokerage with authorised companies in the UK, Australia, Cayman Islands, and South Africa. The expulsion does not affect EBC’s regulatory licences, including its FCA authorisation under reference 927552. Client protections remain dependent on which specific EBC entity holds their account and the applicable regulatory regime in that jurisdiction.
The Financial Commission functions as an independent dispute resolution body and self-regulatory organisation covering forex, CFDs, derivatives, and cryptocurrency markets. This development follows July reports that EBC’s UK entity disclosed alleged fund misappropriation by a former director, though the company stated only operational funds were involved.

Traders with EBC accounts should immediately verify which legal entity holds their funds and confirm what statutory compensation protections apply in that specific jurisdiction.
