The Czech National Bank is expected to hold its policy rate steady at 3.75% as officials adopt a wait-and-see approach following June’s adjustment, according to Commerzbank analyst Tatha Ghose. The central bank is characterizing last month’s rate hike as a fine-tuning measure rather than the start of a broader tightening cycle, signaling a pause in monetary policy changes for now.
Both headline and core inflation remain within the CNB’s target range, giving policymakers room to maintain current rates without immediate pressure to act. However, Ghose warns the central bank must carefully manage its messaging to avoid appearing excessively dovish, which could undermine the koruna’s stability against the euro. The currency has been trading sideways against the single currency as markets digest the CNB’s cautious stance.

Traders should watch for any shift in CNB rhetoric that signals either growing dovishness or hawkish concern, as this will likely break the koruna-euro range and create directional trading opportunities.
