Webull has officially launched cryptocurrency trading in Canada through Coinbase’s Crypto-as-a-Service platform, marking the latest expansion of a partnership already deployed in Brazil and Australia. Coinbase will provide critical infrastructure including custody, settlement, and execution services for Webull Canada’s crypto clients. The move comes as Webull rebuilds its digital asset offerings after abandoning crypto services in July 2023 when it spun off its digital assets business.

The Canadian launch enters a rapidly growing market where cryptocurrency adoption has surged from 10% to 25% of respondents in recent surveys, with Canadian crypto ETFs drawing C$332 million in net inflows during the first half of 2025. Webull Canada Crypto Limited received regulatory approval from CIRO in June and authorization from the Canadian Securities Administrators. However, clients should note that while both Webull entities operate under CIRO oversight, the Canadian Investor Protection Fund explicitly does not cover crypto assets held through the platform.

** Webull’s infrastructure-as-a-service model with Coinbase signals accelerating institutionalization of crypto access, but Canadian traders must understand their digital assets lack traditional investment protection coverage.
