United Overseas Bank currency strategists Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann are forecasting the Chinese yuan to consolidate against the US dollar in extremely tight ranges during today’s trading session. The offshore yuan pair USD/CNH is expected to hold between 6.7680 and 6.7780, following what analysts described as a lacklustre previous session with minimal directional movement.
The forecast suggests continued sideways trading for the yuan, which has shown limited volatility despite ongoing global economic uncertainty. The narrow 100-pip range indicates UOB analysts see no immediate catalysts to drive significant breakouts in either direction for the currency pair. This consolidation pattern comes as traders await fresh macro data or policy signals from either Beijing or Washington that could provide clearer directional momentum.

Currency traders should prepare for range-bound conditions in USD/CNH today, with scalping opportunities limited to the 6.7680-6.7780 corridor until a catalyst emerges to break the consolidation pattern.
