Interactive Brokers and Saxo Bank expanded their product offerings Thursday, with IBKR adding Romanian stock access and Saxo Japan listing 116 new exchange-traded funds as platforms compete to consolidate client assets under single accounts.
Interactive Brokers now provides eligible clients direct trading access to Romania’s Bucharest Stock Exchange through existing mobile, web and desktop platforms spanning over 170 markets. The move follows NAGA’s March 2025 introduction of Romanian shares, though IBKR claims broader distribution reach. Romania’s BVB exchange delivered exceptional 2024 performance with its BET index surging 46.2 percent and total-return index jumping 55.2 percent. IBKR charges 0.28 percent commission with a 10 RON minimum plus 0.1 percent annual custody fees on RON positions.
Meanwhile, Saxo Japan’s new ETF menu includes high-risk leveraged products like the Direxion Daily MSCI South Korea Bull 3X and dual SpaceX 2X leveraged ETFs from GraniteShares and Leverage Shares, targeting aggressive traders seeking amplified daily returns.
