Bybit is launching options contracts on its perpetual futures tracking SpaceX and NVIDIA on 17 September at 8 pm UTC, marking what the exchange calls an industry first. These “Perp Options” are derivatives of derivatives, settling against Bybit’s own perpetual contracts rather than the underlying stocks themselves. The products offer round-the-clock trading, fractional sizing, and USDT settlement through Bybit’s Unified Trading Account. Regulated options already exist for both names, with SPCX options trading on US exchanges since June and NVIDIA options available for years. However, Bybit’s version provides access without US brokerage requirements and operates outside traditional clearing infrastructure. The move extends Bybit’s aggressive expansion into synthetic equity products, which has seen industry-wide volumes surge from $85 billion in January to $470 billion in June according to The Block. Additional contracts for Tesla, QQQ, SOXL and Micron are planned.
