**ASIC Suspends GFA Capital Markets’ CFD License for Five Months**

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has suspended GFA Capital Markets’ financial services license for five months, effective July 23 through December 18, 2026, following an administrative hearing. The regulator cited multiple compliance failures including improper handling of client funds, mixing client money with non-client funds in accounts, and breaches of derivative transaction reporting rules under ASIC’s 2024 regulations.

ASIC also identified inadequate compliance systems, financial resources, technology infrastructure, and staffing deficiencies at the CFD issuer. The regulator determined GFA was likely to breach its general licensee obligations. During suspension, GFA cannot conduct normal financial services business but may maintain complaints authority membership and professional indemnity insurance.

The company’s website displayed only a maintenance notice in English and Chinese when checked Thursday, with normal services inaccessible. ASIC has not disclosed whether client losses occurred or if reimbursements were required.
