Dubai-based neobroker amana has appointed Andrey Artamonov as chief technology and information officer, effective immediately. Artamonov brings 17 years of experience from trading technology firm Devexperts, where he served as CTO for nine years and led an engineering team exceeding 700 people. His appointment is particularly notable because amana already uses Devexperts’ DXtrade platform, meaning he will now oversee infrastructure his former team built.

The hire signals intensifying competition among Gulf brokers, where technology leadership has become a strategic battleground. CFI Financial Group and Equiti Group made similar senior tech appointments recently as firms including XTB, XS.com and CFI expand aggressively across Middle East and North African markets. Artamonov will oversee software development, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure and platform operations as amana scales its zero-fee MENA stock trading and regional expansion.

The move indicates retail brokers are prioritizing engineering talent over traditional growth levers as they compete for market share.
