Lama AI has secured a Series A funding round led by EJF Ventures, pushing the company’s total capital raised beyond $20 million. The AI-native loan origination platform, which specializes in serving community and regional banks, announced the raise alongside disclosure of its 3x year-over-year growth trajectory.
The platform is currently operational at multiple institutions including SouthState Bank, Colony Bank, Capital Community Bank, First Bank, Gate City Bank, and Luminate Bank. Since its commercial launch, Lama AI has processed billions of dollars in loan volume across its client base.
The funding comes as traditional community and regional banks face mounting pressure to digitize lending operations and compete with fintech challengers. Lama AI’s technology automates loan origination workflows using artificial intelligence, targeting a segment of the banking market that has historically relied on manual processing systems.
